Since yesterday our ES has developed a weird Bluetooth problem.
It connects fine to either mine or my wifes phone, but when we want to play music from it it says disconnected. When we make a phone call no audio is heard/sent.
Have tried a master reset of the Sync software and re-paired the phones to no difference....
any ideas? or back to ford?

I know it's a obvious but your Bluetooth on your phones is not switched off?
haha, no it was on :p

Well I did some research and pulling the fuse solved it. Apparently that does a hard reboot of the SYNC device.ROYAL pain to get to, its BEHIND the glove box, so you have to remove it completely to get to the fuse.

That's useful to know. Also worth rebooting your phones too - they can often do with a clear out and re-set.

Happened again today, but found an easier way to reboot sync without taking the glovebox apart. Remove fuse 5 from the engine bay fuse box, that disconnects the passenger fusebox making sync reboot.
