I've had to replace the battery in my ( keyless entry) key fob after 11months use.

Takes a bit of prising open, but just a standard Lithium 2032 battery.

Warning of low battery showed on computer screen, and I replaced it as soon as I got home.....but if it had gone completely flat, although you could get in the car with the skeleton key in the fob, I guess the engine wouldn't start?

Think I may carry a spare battery and screw driver ( to prise key fob apart) in the dash.

Maybe that it what the guy in the advert has got in his trunks? ;-)

If its anything like my last cars if it goes completely flat the fob loses its programming and its an £80 trip to Fords. Also useful to know is don't leave your old batter out too long, make sure you swap it over quickly otherwise it could lose it programming then too.

haha - know the advert you mean!
