Just taken my 2017 Ti S in to have brakes checked, only done 14k, but they sounded like metal on metal. Up on the jacks, mechanic came out and said there’s nothing wrong with the pads, 6mm left.

So what could be causing the metal on metal sound? Anyone else had this problem?

Just when braking, more at lower speeds, sounds like the pads are grinding, checked my brakes and everything is fine.

Could be a lot of things, bad pads with something foreign on their faces, metal to metal hitting somewhere, possibly a clip, a shim, etc, thin metal splash guard behind disk touching disk (usually that's a ticking noise).

If you are having no joy with Ford, why not give Kwik fit a look, and go out for a test run to listen to the noise, and they will check it out for you.
