I would like an automatic next time - such a lazy driver!

I am quite confused over the difference between the two petrol engines.

Is the 1 litre Eco engine more powerful than the 1.5 engine?!?

Benefits of 1.5 engine?

Auto only available in 1.5 engine!

Any thoughts?

The 1 Litre ecoboost gets rave reviews from just about every magazine I've read. It's available in two power outputs; 98bhp with a five-speed gearbox, or 123bhp and a six-speed gearbox.
The figures for the 123bhp are;Engine: 999cc, 3cyl petrolPower: 123bhp0-62mph/top speed: 11.3 seconds/120mphEconomy/CO2: 56.5mpg/114g/km
And the figures for the 99bhp car are:Engine: 999cc, 3cyl petrolPower: 99bhp0-62mph/top speed: 12.5sec /115mphEconomy/CO2:58.9mpg/109g/km
Both of the engine figures are from the new Focus.
The good news for you is Ford says it is working on a twin-clutch semi automatic for the unit, too.
Additionally I understand the 1.5 litre or 1.6 engine will be replaced by a new 1.5 ecoboost engine -http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/shanghai-auto-show/ford-mondeo-15-litre-ecoboost-shanghai-motor-show-2013

Wow - thanks for all the info Dan. Who needs Top Gear?!?

Be great if they do release the Ecosport with a 1.5 ecoboost engine.

Hopefully there will also be the 1.5 Diesel, probably won't be offered with an automatic gearbox though.Cheers
